8 Races To Get You Running!

Finding the motivation to get out and run during the short winter days can be tough. Having a scheduled race on the calendar can help give you that extra drive to lace up. Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k

March 1, 2020 || Seattle

If you’re looking for a race with equal amounts energy and chocolate, this is the race for you! Participants run through the streets of Seattle in the 5k or 15k, take selfies with Marshmallow mascots and dance to music from DJ’s. All finishers will receive a great looking medal and swag that includes hot chocolate and fondue! 

The St. Patrick’s Day Dash 5k

March 15, 2020 || Seattle

One of Seattle’s longest running and iconic races, the St. Patrick’s Day Dash is one big family party! This race starts in the view of the Space Needle and includes a kid’s race as well as the long standing 5k. After the race, you can celebrate in the beer garden or the Irish festival for families. This race also prides itself on the many charities it donates to. Don’t forget to dress in your finest Irish costume for the race!

Dash Point Trail Half Marathon/10k

March 21, 2020 || Tacoma

Was your 2020 goal to try your hand (er foot?) at trail running? This great beginner trail race offers views of the Puget Sound and the mountains. After you finish, hang out at the state park and BBQ with fellow runners. This race also offers a fun kid’s race for the mini me’s. 

Mercer Island Half Marathon/10k/5k

March 22, 2020 || Mercer Island

This running and walking event on Mercer Island is a great local race that includes rolling hills. The Rotary Club of Mercer Island holds this race every year to raise funds and awareness to fight colon cancer. They even have free training plans for the half marathon and 10k distances available for download on their website.

Everett Half Marathon/10k

March 23, 2020 || Everett

Run along the Everett waterfront, across a large bridge and sweep back to the Marina in this March race. The nautical themed race is easily marked and includes a great medal and sweatshirt! Military members and veterans also receive a discount to this race thanks to Snohomish Running Company. 

Birch Bay Road Race 30k/15k/5k

April 4, 2020 || Birch Bay

Head up near the Canadian border to Birch Bay and run or walk along the waterfront. This gorgeous race can be made into a fun weekend getaway. You can even bring your running club and compete against other run clubs in the 30k and 15k distances. Free race photos for everyone!

Whidbey Island Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k

April 19, 2020 || Whidbey Island 

This USATF certified course and Boston qualifier is one you’ll remember. Participants run through parks, along the waterfront, near farms and even across Deception Pass bridge! From the marathon distance all the way down to a kid’s 1k race, there is fun for every runner in the family. 

St. Jude Rock ‘n Roll Seattle Marathon/Half Marathon/5k

June 7, 2020 || Seattle 

Run for a cause in the St. Jude Rock ‘n Roll Seattle Marathon in June. While running around your favorite PNW city, you’ll also be helping to end the fight against childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases. With activities all weekend long, it’s a fun race to be a part of!
